1. An application may be obtained at the Community Development Department and shall include a fee as established by the Town Board. The Community Development Director will make a decision, notifying the applicant in writing within 15 days of receipt of the application. If the director finds the request is not within the scope of the Major Home Occupation criteria, the application will be denied.
2. All permits shall be valid for 1 year from the initial date of approval.
3. The Community Development Department may void any permit for non-compliance with the criteria set forth. Revocation may take place at any time prior to the expiration date of the permit. If the permit is revoked or is not renewed, it becomes null and void and the use shall be terminated.
4. The decision of the Community Development Department concerning approval or revocation shall be final unless a written appeal is filed with the Plan Commission within 10 days of the decision. An appeal may only be filed by the applicant or persons residing within 300' of the subject property.
5. A reasonable inspection of the premises by Community Development staff to determine compliance. Home occupations shall be field checked as needed by department staff to determine compliance.
6. Permits may be renewed annually, 1 month prior to expiration of the permit, provided there has not been any violations. Requests for renewals may be submitted to the Community Development Department in writing, accompanied by an annual fee as established by the Town Board.
